Max's series of paintings on the Islamic dress code has been attracting a fair amount of attention of late it seems. The Arab American News posted an article on August 4th titled Are drawing and painting haraam? in which they mention Max's series of Islamic Erotica in a discussion of nudity in art. As one would expect it seems to be a big "No! No!" for strict Moslems. Same goes for strict Christians, and no doubt strict Jews, strict Hindus...
Iran Politics Club also posted a piece about Max this past August 2nd titled Max Emadi's Islamo-Erotic Paintings!
And last but not least, Max was approached recently to exhibit in a London event called "The Erotic Awards". Prints of some of his works will be exhibited at an event called "Night of the Senses" taking place in Brixton, London on the evening of September 2nd! We aren't going to link to either of the associated websites because of the explicit nature of images on both sites but you can no doubt search them down if you must. Max and I believe his works will appear rather tame in the context of what we've seen.

i am an artist who has just started working on muslim women...i wanted to know what do you want to convey through your work....i would like to chat with you...........
i dont know if it makes a difference in what you feel or think, but after seeing these works i felt as if my efforts at liberating myself were useless - as if the scarf from my head had been ripped off to expose my deepest self to the world
because of these paintings, for the first time i feel unprotected even with my hijab on, because there are now people all over the world viewing hijabi women as if they were not worth more than a corner street prostitute... i feel like my efforts, pride and faith are being laughed at in mockery through these works

I think he is a crazy man. Islamic Women are the most honorable women in the world. Muslim women are promoted and honor has no right to violate privacy. He feels jealous because he wants to know what is under this cover. But he is in dream, because no one can see the beauty of Islamic women except her husband or father or her brothers and her uncles. I challenge him to see the real beauty of Islamic women especially for who are veiled. Islamic women are not crazy to show her beauty to everyone, she respects her husband and not betrayal him in his presence and his absence.
I think you are really jealous that you're taken to the modesty of Muslim girls. there exists no pure girl that Muslim. you do not accept the fact that Muslim girls are the only girls who kept their modesty. to show you this picture proves that you are really ignorant because an educated person never published such a thing.
These pictures do not illustrate the fact Muslim, and who knows the true Islam can not stand by and watch these pictures in smiling ..
The artist who drew the pictures, either to be without shame, or want something distorting Islam ..
The idea (of nudity in art) shows the deviation is not good birth, Islam is not a satisfactory ..
